When it came time for me to look for childcare when I went back to work, after maternity leave, the choice was obvious.
Emily was just 4 months old when Carmelina started caring for her. She made the transition back to work just so easy. Expectations on both sides were clear and always met. My daughter was happy each day when I picked her up.
She was clean, fed and often came home with art projects and homemade gifts at the holidays. Emily stayed with Carmelina until she was old enough for preschool. We were reassured of care for our children and a loving environment that became a second home for them. Above and beyond is putting it mildly. After having my 10 month old daughter in Carmelina’s care, 7 months later her next “client” was born.
Carmelina came to the hospital to hold her newest at only a few hours old. Again, above and beyond. I remember trips to a local baby gym, the dentist and many parties with the other children’s parents. (That we have remained friends with). A Santa visit, Thanksgiving daycare family events, birthday parties…memories are flooding back as I write this. Italian songs, homemade baby food, I even remember being sent home dinner for my husband and I when I was pregnant!!
